Oh Miss Natty, you are definitely my country girl with an edge. From sports portraits, to an amazing barn, beautiful sunsets, and a raccoon that chased us, your session surely had it all!
When Natty and her mom sat on my couch to discuss her senior portrait experience, we had some differing opinions of what we wanted to capture but one point was made, we will be shooting in and around Fayette. This family's roots in the farming community in and around the Fayette area for generations is incredibly strong. I love the sentiment of truly celebrating where Natty was raised and all of the fond family memories and history.
We started our evening in the water. A beautiful shaded creek and the water was cool but pleasant. However, we had a very curious friend. I apparently interrupted his trip to the creek for an afternoon cup of water. He left, or so we thought. Nope, less than 5 feet from myself and Natty, his cute little head pops out of the brush. Was he afraid? Not in the least. Were we? Oh heck yes! Hey, let's toss a rock in its direction to scare it back in the bushes. Nope, he runs towards the rock and picks it up. And we're moving out of the water. LOL (We have now discovered he is a local treasure that gets spoiled with many a marshmallow during camping trips and parties at the creek).
Moving on and drying off, we headed to a beautifully lit barn, used an old Pepsi machine, and captured an old rustic silo. Silos are a big deal for this family. In fact it was the family business for many years. So of course we had Natty scale a wall to get a cool perspective. Capturing her Grandma's old home, taking advantage of the beautiful sunsets and fields overlooking Fayette, and even getting in a twirl or two on a dirt road made for a beautiful ending to our session.
Natty, I want to thank you for trusting me to capture your senior portrait experience. I wish you the very best for your senior year. Enjoy!
