What a crazy summer it has been but my oh my have the seniors been killing it with their portrait sessions. Miss Jocelyn is a Class of 2020 senior from Platteville High School. When I first met Miss Jocelyn she was very quiet, a little reserved, but I could tell she would be full of spirit during her session. Her mom described her as a girl that likes to take risks with her fashion and creativity but still likes to keep things simple and clean. Simply elegant would be my mantra for her session.
We chose to travel around Dubuque for the start of Jocelyn's session. The weather was not on our side and we did have a few rain clouds that decided to put a small breather in our evening. Not to worry the Arboretum was still absolutely beautiful. I adored the lace dress she chose for her session. Such movement, such elegance, and just a touch of drama. We then traveled downtown for a few quick "urban portraits". I loved the different textures we achieved from the arboretum to the old buildings and ivy. As Jocelyn's sister stated during her reveal, these are some of her "cover model" portraits. I would agree!
With our small rain storm setback we were hustling to make sunset on the water. Heading to one of my favorite locations, Miss Jocelyn and her adorable overalls, "dove" right into the water for some truly amazing sunset portraits in the ripples. It may have been a little cold but she was quite the trooper and I haven't met anyone that can make a pair of overalls look that darn cute!
Thank you to Miss Jocelyn and her family for choosing me to capture her senior portrait experience. I wish you nothing but the best in your next chapter!
