I'd like to introduce you to Miss Skyler, a class of 2024 senior from Hempstead High School. This young lady has been part of my 2023-2024 Senior Rep Team. Skyler is sassy, incredibly sweet, has a laugh that lights up a room and has a beautiful soul. Over the past year we have taken some incredible portraits together, she has donated her time giving back to the community through the Candid Community project, and she and her family traveled to Montana for some one of a kind, stunning portraits. This year has been truly incredible.
Skyler took part in 3 stylized sessions as a senior rep. These are sessions that are not your "typical" senior portrait session. These sessions encourage the girls to step outside their comfort zone and be a little creative with their experience.
For Skyler's "regular" senior portraits we designed a session that was full of color! From flower gardens, to graffiti, and ending in water under the stars. This session had everything. We started our time together in the beautiful Dubuque arboretums for flower and bubbles. Loved her adorable green dress and country style for this portion of her shoot. We then headed to an amazing graffiti tunnel where Miss Skyler turned up the volume. We even included her car for extra impact in this perfect location.
As we were finishing at the tunnel, the clouds began to roll in, and we not only were chasing the light but losing it FAST. The end of Skyler's session may have turned into an impromptu "dusk" session but it was absolutely stunning. Her blue dress was a wonderful way to end our evening.
Skyler and her family decided to travel to Montana this summer to take me up on my crazy idea to do Destination Senior! Adventures were promised and what I love about Skyler and her family's experience is that they were able to make AMAZING memories together while Skyler also got a once in a lifetime portrait experience. I am beyond blessed to have had so many seniors and their families trust me this summer with this super special trip. Glacier National Park is so unreal. The mountains, the blue water, and the big skies DO NOT disappoint. We started 6500 feet up with a gorgeous view and a stunning young lady. We made sure to spotlight the newest ink Skyler got while on her trip in memory of her Grandma. We traveled through the park splashing in mountain streams and sitting in mountain lakes before heading to a beautiful flower field just outside the parks limits. The sunset was perfect and it was a breathtaking way to end our amazing day together.
I want to thank Skyler and her family for choosing me to capture so many of her memories this past year. We have known one another for not 1 but 2 amazing seniors and I will miss you all so much. Thank you for the laughs, the joy, and the trust. Skyler you are a beautiful light that shines so bright from the inside out. You are stunning. Own it girl! I wish you the very best in your future. Enjoy!
