I love it when my seniors come to the studio with unique interests and challenge me to capture something NEW! That was the case for my Class of 2020 Senior from Mineral Point High School, Miss Sara, and her love for fly fishing. Before we get to the water and the amazing sunset, we started off our session in historic Galena. I was a little shocked that Sara had never been but she loved some of the location options that I presented her with during our design consultation.
The day of her session, this young lady stepped out of the car just absolutely perfect with the best attitude. We traveled around downtown Galena, using the amazing architecture and texture as a beautiful backdrop for the first half of her session.
Later in the afternoon we headed for the country side to one of my favorite back roads for a pop of fall color and some killer light. The wardrobe was spot on even though our weather was certainly warm for the fall colors we were shooting! Now, to the epic end of our evening... Into the water we went with Sara in full fly fishing gear. It took me a few moments to figure out how to capture the awesome cast that comes along with this form of fishing but in the end the results are FANTASTIC.
I want to thank Miss Sara and her mom for choosing me to capture her senior portrait experience and for bringing something "new" and unique to the table for me to photograph. I wish you the very best in your future. Enjoy!
