I'm a strong believer that a portrait experience should be personal. It's why I love to meet my clients and design a session that truly captures their story, especially when it's the love of a family. The Ruf family was so much fun to work with. I met with Brandi and her two girls to discuss their family portrait session. These two spunky little girls had plenty of ideas and just as many opinions about they wanted out of their family session. I LOVE THAT! The biggest request was for a vintage truck and then something a little more urban in downtown Dubuque. In discussing the families loves and what each location would mean to them, we discovered that our location in Dubuque was near Brandi and Dustin's first date. Of course we were going to take pictures there!
Dustin was obviously in love with the truck. I probably should have taken a self-portrait of him and the truck! What I enjoyed most about this session was how much fun we had working together and that this family and their personality shined through. We did get rained out half-way through our session, but our second day made up for the horrible weather. I thank the Ruf family for traveling to my studio to have me capture your family portraits and I can't wait to see what the future has instore for your family. Enjoy!
