2019 Candid Touch Tween Model Team

This year has already been full of new experiences and ideas for myself and the studio. I always to want to push my creative, learn new things, meet new people, and share my passion for art. I've always said that photography done right is not just a pretty picture, it's a feeling. I whole heartedly believe that photography, being as personal an experience as I try to make it, has the power to leave an impact.

All that being said, I realized that I never get to see the tween age group in studio. Unless I have family sessions, they seem to be the ones that sorta fade into the background until they walk into my studio for senior portraits. This is an amazing age group. They're doing so many things from sports, to clubs, to the arts and it's not being celebrated. After doing model call to see if anyone would be interested in being part of an all new model team, I had an overwhelming response. It was awesome to see so many parents and kids that wanted to be part of celebrating who they are and capturing this chapter of their lives.

Reading all the applications and trying to figure out how many models I was going to accept was overwhelming. I honestly was just hoping to get maybe two or three people interested and I had over 25 applications. Thank you for the amazing response. I wish I could have taken each and every one but I decided in order to make the most of each tweens experience to select 8 for the program. This program is not only about capturing amazing portraits and celebrating who they are but bringing a sense of empowerment and confidence through art. Reading all the applications, I saw a common theme and it tugged at my heart. So many of the applicants talked about not feeling confident, low self esteem, dealing with bullying, etc... It's a tough age and with this model team I hope to show them just how beautiful they are on the outside as well as in and help them share with the world just how amazing they are just as themselves. 

I'm overjoyed to introduce you the first Candid Touch Tween Model Team; The Junior Crew! My models range in age from 12 to 14 years old and they all have some awesome talents. Over the next two months we will be photographing each model individually as well as doing a group stylized session. To introduce them to the world we had a fun day at the studio. Props, pizza, and a little too much sugar; it was an interesting afternoon. Stay tuned to be wowed by these amazing tweens.
